Lara Ješe lives and works in Zürich, Switzerland. Having grown up in the countryside near Kranj, Slovenia, her artistic interest in animals, particularly large livestock, began at a young age. While her primary artistic disciplines are painting, photography and graphics, she has also worked in the fields of performance, scenography and internet media. She recently completed a multi-year work titled The Battery Project that explores and interrogates the myth of “the wild horse.” The final product is a series of silk screen images of contained horses. She holds an MFA in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO) at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. She has also studied Graphic Printing and Fine Arts at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (HGB) in Leipzig. Ješe has participated in HARP.
