Raymond Plank Creative Center

The Raymond Plank Creative Center, which was constructed in 2012 and is currently in development, will be a community resource intended to:

  • Honor the vision and accomplishments of Ucross Foundation’s and Apache Corporation’s founder, Raymond Plank, through a permanent display, with rotating exhibits that reflect Plank’s areas of focus, such as education, land conservation, energy, entrepreneurship and public policy
  • Present the history of the Ucross cattle ranch and its place in the history of the American West
  • Communicate Ucross Foundation’s land ethic, which has placed conservation and care for the land at the center of its activities for over 30 years.  Current projects such as the High Plains Stewardship Initiative – a collaboration with Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies – will be highlighted, along with future directions for conservation work on the ranch.
  • Serve as an inspiring gathering place for group meetings and retreats, which have already included a Wyoming Education Summit in 2012 (John P. Ellbogen Foundation), a Fund for Teachers retreat (2013), a Wyoming State Treasurer’s Office meeting (2013) and a board meeting of the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources, University of Wyoming (2013).
