It is the mission of the Ucross Foundation Residency Program for the arts and literature to actively support and participate in the process by which a society is strengthened and emboldened by its most forward looking arts.
The residency program aims to encourage fresh and innovative thinking in the arts and literature by providing residencies and work space for individual artists and writers whose work indicates both involvement in individual creative exploration and significant future accomplishments.		   The Foundation's unique geographic location allows it to introduce artists and writers to the landscapes, people, and ethos of the western High Plain and rocky Mountain region. Through its Residency Program and activities it seeks to foster an appreciation for vibrant human creativity, for conversations of change, not only in the western community, but in contemporary North American society, for part of the mission of the Ucross Foundation is to cast a reflection into the future from the cultural mirror of our lives and times.
