Join the Wyoming Arts Alliance for an arts weekend October 2-3 in Sheridan!

The Wyoming Arts Alliance invites the arts community to gather for a weekend of inspiration, learning, and networking. Kickoff for the event will be noon on Friday, October 2nd with a lunch and learn opportunity for nonprofits, an introduction to advocacy, with guest speaker Senator Dave Kinskey at the Sagebrush Community Art Center. Conference activities on October 2 continue with an evening reception from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ucross Foundation Art Gallery, featuring a special place-based group exhibition, Ucross: A Portrait in Place. Renowned land artist and Ucross Foundation board member Bill Gilbert will give an art talk, followed by music provided by Emy Phelps, Ucross composer in residence.

On October 3rd, the Wyoming Arts Alliance is convening performing arts performers and venues to our annual block booking conference at the WYO Theater. The Annual conference is structured to contain elements to help art nonprofits be successful in the work they do. Those elements include: two tiered tracks of professional development, two showcasing blocks, a block booking meeting, a member meeting, and plenty of networking. Professional development courses offered reflect industry trends and state wide issues. Courses this year include helping art organizations be responsive to community needs and develop programming choices related to those needs. Showcases include performances by Ken Lavigne, Lauren Sheehan, Andy Hackbarth, J Shogren Shanghai’d, Julie Szewc, Dave Munsick, and many more.

There is something for everyone!

A complete schedule and registration are currently up on the conference website at Click on Annual Conference.
