Pew Fellowship in the Arts

In 2012, Ucross joined an international partnership, spearheaded by the Alliance of Artist Communities, involving Pew Fellowships in the Arts, a program of the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.  The partnership includes Ucross Foundation, the 18th Street Arts Center (Los Angeles), Headlands Center for the Arts (Sausalito, CA), The MacDowell Colony (Peterboro, New Hampshire) and The Banff Centre (Alberta, Canada).  Philadelphia-based artists who have been awarded Pew Fellowships will be invited for residencies at these programs, to further develop their artistic work through the gift of uninterrupted time and studio space.

As Alliance of Artist Communities Executive Director Caitlin Strokosch has said, “Pew Fellowships in the Arts is a model funder of artists, providing unrestricted, no-strings-attached support, and making long-term investment in their lives. Providing a residency in addition to a fellowship deepens the impact of the award.”
