Applicants from around the U.S. and the world are invited to
work on individual or collaborative projects for two to eight weeks at the
confluence of Piney, Clear and Coal Creeks.
The Foundation´s residency facilities
can accommodate four writers and four studio artists at one time. Studios
are located in the Kocur Writers´ Retreat along the bank of Clear Creek,
the remodeled Clearmont Depot, and the complex of Rock Studios along Piney
Creek.
There is a composer´s cabin, Jesse´s
Hideout, which can accommodate one composer at a time. Our oldest buildings
are the Big Red Barn, circa 1880, which houses an art gallery, conference
space, and the Conservation Program office, and the Big Red Ranch House which
houses administrative offices.
The Residency Program provides living accommodations, individual work space
and uninterrupted time to selected artists and writers: painters, poets, fiction
and nonfiction writers, composers, sculptors, photographers,
playwrights, and those working in the natural sciences and interdisciplinary
forms. Residents are chosen by a rotating panel of professionals in the arts
and humanities. The quality of an applicant´s work is given primary
consideration in the review process.
