The nearby Ucross School House has been renovated to include four bedrooms, the dining area, living area, and main kitchen. Both the Depot and School House have laundry facilities for resident use. Lunch and dinner are prepared five days a week by a professional chef with ample food also provided for weekends.

Lasting rain or gray skies are not common any time of year at Ucross. Snow is frequent in winter. The sunshine and dry climate make even deep winter enjoyable.
