ARIN WADDELL | BIG RED SHOWCASE
The Big Red Showcase is a seasonal spotlight on former Ucross artists-in-residence. The featured artist in the Big Red Ranch House is Arin Waddell, whose work is on view throughout the Ranch House from June 16, 2026, through June 17, 2027.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised on a Black Angus cattle ranch west of Billings, Montana, Arin is the daughter of oil painter Theodore Waddell and writer, musician, and scholar Betty Whiting. She was an artist-in-residence at Ucross twice early in her career. She still remembers those precious months — making art, mayhem, and friends who wrote poetry and were terrified of the sheep outside our studio windows. Arin is thrilled to be serving on the Ucross Foundation Board of Trustees.
Join us on Tuesday, June 16, during the Grand Reopening of the Big Red Ranch House for the opening artwork exhibition, a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Sheridan Chamber of Commerce, open house, and a ticketed summer picnic afterward.
