ROGER PLANK
Ucross, WY, and Houston, TX
Roger Plank is founder and Chairman of Apex International Energy, a privately-held upstream company focused on acquiring, producing, and exploring for oil and natural gas in the Western Desert of Egypt. With offices in Houston and Cairo, Apex was awarded two concessions by Egypt’s national oil company and now produces 5,000 barrels of oil from three discoveries in the Abu Gharadig basin. Earlier, Plank was President and Chief Corporate Officer of Apache Corporation, having served in various positions of increasing responsibility, including Chief Financial Officer, over his 32 years with the company. Apache is a large, international upstream oil and gas company founded in 1954 and headquartered in Houston. Plank formerly served on the Board of Directors of Newfield Exploration as well as Parker Drilling Company, where he was Lead Director.

Plank has been a trustee of Houston’s Alley Theatre for some twenty years and co-chaired the Extended Capital and Endowment Campaign which funded the complete renovation of this theater into a state-of-the-art facility. He previously served as a trustee of the Ucross Foundation for over a decade.

Plank earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Colgate University in 1979 and his MBA from St. Thomas University in his then hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1982.
