THE PARK AT UCROSS
Ucross is situated at a crossroads — both literal and symbolic — where Highways 14 and 16 intersect, where Clear and Piney Creeks meet, and where vibrant creative ideas are exchanged by artists-in-residence from around the world.
The Park at Ucross represents our ongoing efforts to honor and preserve this extraordinary corner of the American West. Created in 2011, it has become an appreciated and well-used public space for artists, visitors, travelers, and neighbors. The Park is a tranquil, natural expression of the creative spirit that Ucross strives to support. It features a small interdenominational chapel, open seven days a week, and two beautiful gardens, Johansen Memorial Gardens One and Two. (The gardens were named in memory of Terry and Donna Johansen, Ucross supporters and longtime friends of Ucross founder Raymond Plank.) The gardens bloom each summer with colorful flowers, enticing visitors with beauty, peacefulness, and comfortable benches for rest and contemplation. Numerous trees have been planted in the park in recognition of specific individuals, families, and organizations.
We are grateful to the many donors who have contributed to the care and development of the Park.
