ABOUT THE EVENT

Picture
Celebrating the legacy of the artist residency program and honoring Corbin J. Robertson, Jr., Managing Partner of Quintana Capital Group and Chairman and CEO of the general partner of Natural Resource Partners LP, with The Raymond Plank Award for Visionary Leadership.

Join us on November 6, 2025, starting at 5 p.m. CST at POST Houston, as we celebrate the legacy of Ucross Founder Raymond Plank and present the 2025 Raymond Plank Award for Visionary Leadership to Corbin J. Robertson, Jr., for his innovative leadership and contributions to the energy sector. Mr. Robertson is a seasoned leader with more than 40 years of global investment and operational experience in the natural resources sector. He has chaired multiple public and private energy and shipping ventures and holds leadership roles across a range of organizations, including the American Petroleum Institute, Texas Medical Center, and Baylor College of Medicine. Mr. Robertson is a member of the Texas Business Hall of Fame.

The Ucross Gala & Benefit will transport attendees to our stunning 20,000-acre ranch in northern Wyoming. Ucross alumnus Don Stinson of Austin, Texas, will create an oil painting live throughout the evening, which will also feature a performance by Ucross alumnus Jack Wolff of Houston, alongside his fellow alumni and Houston Ballet dancers Aoi Fujiwara and Eric Best. Among its other national organizations, Ucross partners with the Houston Ballet, as well as the Alley Theatre, the University of Houston's Creative Writing Program and Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.

The festivities will also feature a live auction, which will provide excellent opportunities to bid on exciting travel packages, experiences, and items. Explore the auction items here.

Reservations are accepted through Sunday, October 26.

If you can't attend, we hope that you will consider donating to this worthy mission. (Note: There will not be a benefit in Wyoming in 2025; the events in Houston and Ucross alternate each year.)

Every gift supporting the Ucross Gala & Benefit will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $1 million. Armand and Mary Brachman have pledged this 1:1 match. We are deeply grateful for their generosity, which will strengthen our mission and our sustainability. The Brachmans have been connected to Ucross for decades. Mary's father, Victor Stein, was one of our founding Board Members in 1981; today, Armand serves as a Trustee. They understand the legacy of our residency program and land, and they are excited to support our future.

All funds raised before and during the event will support Ucross Foundation, which provides residencies for more than 120 artists each year and responsible stewardship of our historic 20,000-acre ranch in northern Wyoming. Your participation will help Ucross remain a meaningful and relevant resource for generations to come.
