Jim Nelson is a founding member of our board and has served as our Treasurer since the inception of the Foundation; our Founder Raymond Plank asked Jim to take over as Chair in November 2013, when Raymond elected to step aside from day-to-day activities. Jim’s entire professional career has been in the Energy industry. Today, he serves on the boards and audit committees of three publicly traded and one privately owned oil and gas company. He also serves on the boards of two other nonprofits: Volunteers of America Northern Rockies and Stop Oil Seeps California. Jim resides in Big Horn, Wyoming, and has offices in Houston, Texas, and Santa Barbara, California. He has a BS from Holy Cross College and an MBA from Harvard University.
